In 2000, Dr. Mary Corey purchased an old farmhouse with 1 acre of land, making her dream of opening Stream Valley Veterinary Hospital a reality. After graduating from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, minor in animal science) and the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (completing her training in 1988 to achieve the title of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine), Dr. Corey practiced veterinary medicine among the teams of Shrewsbury and Toms River veterinary hospitals in New Jersey through mid-1998. When she returned to Northern Virginia, she spent the following two and a half years as a clinician in emergency medicine at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, where she fostered her aspiration to open a unique practice. During the end of her tenure as an ER clinician and with the encouragement of the referral center, she constructed her dream. To this day, Stream Valley remains with the promise of hometown hospitality and the best care for all pets that come to visit
