We are an emergency hospital dedicated to your pet's urgent medical care needs. There is no need to make an appointment; similar to a human emergency room, we admit patients in order of medical severity and time of arrival. If your pet is having a medical emergency, call us or show up at our hospital where our staff will take care of both you and your pets. We have ICU and in-patient care available 24/7, and we are very happy to offer exams for your pet with you in person again

Salem Veterinary Emergency Clinic has been a community leader in emergency veterinary medicine for over 40 years. We are a family-owned, private practice, and the primary facility for emergency referrals from all veterinary practices in the greater Salem area. Dr. Kim Erbes began practicing at SVEC in 1987 and discovered her love of emergency medicine; she had the fortunate opportunity to purchase the Salem Veterinary Emergency Clinic in 1998. After much searching for a great location, and with a huge amount of help from her contractor husband Joe, she and her staff were able to move SVEC in 2004 to its current spacious Market Street location
