Bellerose Animal Hospital was established in 1946, in the developing borough of Queens, New York. Although it was founded as a veterinary hospital for small animals (dogs and cats), we continued to examine and treat farm animals, including goats, cows, and horses, until the early 1950s. From its inception, Bellerose Animal Hospital's philosophy promised progressive medicine and compassionate pet care with an emphasis on the alleviation of pain and suffering in animals and a commitment to guide and educate pet owners. Recognition of our standards of excellence was first awarded to us in 1970 by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) certifying Bellerose Animal Hospital to its highest level of veterinary hospital certification—a standard that the hospital consistently maintains
