Some of the many services we offer include cyro-surgery, dental care, in-clinic diagnostics, in-house pharmacy, surgery, and wellness visits. We know that you have a choice about where you take your pet for veterinary care, and we would like to be your choice for your pet's health care throughout his or her lifetime. At Animal Hospital of Onslow County, we do things a little differently from your average veterinary facility, and we think that makes us special. Our staff is friendly, respectful, knowledgeable, and we take great care to listen attentively to our clients. We strive everyday to make your visit to our hospital stress free and as productive as possible through exceptional communication. An additional difference at Animal Hospital of Onslow County is that we place a priority on emergency cases during normal business hours. Your pet's emergency will receive a prompt response from our staff. These cases are taken to one of our emergency examination rooms where we will work to achieve a stable condition while diagnosing your pet's injury or illness. If your pet requires surgery, we will prepare an operating room and prep your pet for surgery. If your pet's illness is not an emergency, but is still considered urgent, we offer walk-in urgent care services and will make sure your pet is seen by one of our veterinarians in a timely manner

Animal Hospital of Onslow County was established here in Jacksonville by Dr. Smith in 1950 and saw Dr. Glass and Dr. Altman as successive owners, continuing the excellence in service Animal Hospital of Onslow County became known for. Now, in 2024, Dr. Candice Thomas took over ownership for Dr. Altman as he began his well earned retirement, beginning another generation of private ownership by a local veterinarian. Dr. Thomas also owns Jacksonville Veterinary Hospital and College View Veterinary Clinic and is dedicated to serving the community she calls home. In a time of corporate takeover and corporatized customer service, Dr. Thomas and the team at Animal Hospital look forward to putting community first and bringing the best and most advanced pet healthcare to Jacksonville
