In 1978, Dr. Jack Brown fulfilled his dream of opening an animal hospital where he grew up in North Carolina. Northgate Animal Hospital was born from a dedication to serving pets and their people by bringing the finest veterinary medicine and surgical care to our community. 1983: The Northgate family expanded to a second location in nearby Spring Lake under the name Manchester Animal Hospital. 1999: We remodeled and expanded our Northgate location to become a state-of-the-art practice with advanced medical and surgical equipment. 2001: Dr. Brown's son, Dale, joined the practice. Dr. Dale brings additional talents to our practices, including advanced medical and surgical skills. 2005: Dr. Jenny Rodriguez, a veterinary school classmate of Dr. Dale's, joined our practices. Around the same time, our Manchester location moved to Highway 87, and a new facility was built, allowing us to dedicate more time and service to the people and pets in the community. 2015: We added an animal rehabilitation clinic, pet retreat and aquatic center. With this expansion, we rebranded our facilities under one new name: Riverbark. TODAY: We continue to provide our community with expanded medical and surgical services as well as exciting new recreational opportunities for pets and their people
