Pinetree Animal Hospital is pleased to serve the communities of Pinehurst, Southern Pines, and Aberdeen in the Sandhills of North Carolina. We fully understand the joy pets bring into our lives, and we make every effort to partner with our clients to keep their pets happy and comfortable for many years. Our warm, home-like atmosphere is what sets us apart from the commercial chains. At the same time, we keep pace with all the current trends in the veterinary medical field by participating annually in continuing education and utilizing state of the art diagnostic and surgical equipment. We are a community-oriented practice that is eager to share our professional experiences with schools and local scout groups and extend learning experiences to potential veterinary students
Dr. Watson and Dr. Israel founded Pinetree Animal Hospital in 2000 and look forward to many busy, fulfilling years in practice. Dr. Watson, who attended Cornell University and graduated from veterinary school in 1985, spent 12 years in a busy mixed animal practice in Plattsburgh, New York before focusing on small animal practice in the Sandhills. Dr. Melissa J. Israel graduated from NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 and began her first job in Pinehurst, NC, where she met her husband and her business partner Jim Watson. Dr. Whitehead joined the Pinetree team in 2010
