Dr. Desmarais started Lone Peak Veterinary Hospital in 2017, after working in Bozeman and the surrounding areas for 2 years. She wanted to transition to working in a small, close-knit community where she could focus on high quality medicine and personalized care. She feels extremely lucky to a part of this incredible mountain town. She first attended the University of Vermont for her undergraduate education before obtaining her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from North Carolina State University. Dr. D completed an internship at Ontario Veterinary College followed by numerous years working as an ER veterinarian at Northwest Veterinary Specialists in Portland, Oregon. Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, infectious disease and wound care. Dr. Desmarais has a passion for volunteering within her community and abroad. She had previously volunteered in India and Thailand, treating and performing surgeries on street dogs. Within Big Sky, she started RUFF Riley's Urgent Fund for Friends a non-profit assistance fund to help subsidize healthcare for animals in need. She is so excited about the community's response to help!
Mission — To provide excellent customer service by taking the time to discuss your pets history, explaining both the diagnostic tests indicated and the results, and offering clear treatment options. To treat your pets with the same love and compassion as our own. To offer in house blood work and diagnostic imaging to obtain quick results to better help your pets in timely manner.
