Since 1995, Oakwood Veterinary Service has been serving patients in Colona, IL and surrounding areas. We offer quality veterinary services to horses, dogs, and cats, in a warm and welcoming environment. It is our mission to provide our patients with ethical and compassionate care. Our clinic serves the Quad Cities Area and utilizes state-of-the-art technology so that we can provide the highest quality of services to every patient. We offer a range of comprehensive and advance equine and small animal care services, including digital radiography, surgery, and an in-house laboratory. We are open 6 days a week, with after hour emergency services available, to fit the needs of you and your four-legged friends

"Doc" received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan in 1971. For 17 years, he served as a resident veterinarian at a local horse farm owned by Tish Hewitt. Dr. Rock was also employed by the State of Illinois as a racing official at The Quad City Downs. "Doc" assumed ownership of the clinic and started what is now Oakwood Veterinary Service in February 1995. He remained the owner until December 2009. "Doc" continued to support the clinic as a part time veterinarian, until he officially retired in late 2022.
