The practice describes itself as a state of the art medical facility with a world class boarding facility (pet resort) offering canine and feline luxury and standard suites, puppy boarding, and spa services. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventative care for young and healthy pets, early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages, and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during your pet's lifetime

Formerly known as Pet Med Plus, West Madison Veterinary Hospital, located in Madison, Alabama, is a full service companion animal hospital serving both emergency cases as well as less urgent medical, surgical and dental issues. Dr. Marlene Mixon purchased Pet Met Plus in September 2012 and renamed the clinic West Madison Veterinary Hospital. She and her staff continued to practice out of the Balch Road location for a little over a year. During this time, the new location was being built right across the street. In December of 2013, the clinic moved to its new location on US-72. From the moment you walk through the double air-locked doors (installed for the safety of your pet), you will see and feel the difference. West Madison Veterinary Hospital is a state of the art medical facility with a world class boarding facility. One example of what makes us different is that we have a custom engineered HVAC system that includes an air exchange system designed with both you and your pet's health and comfort in mind. Not only does this system provide climate control throughout the entire facility, but it continuously exchanges the air in order to provide a constant supply of fresh air throughout our hospital and pet resort. The ductwork has ion generators placed inside to help eliminate any bacterial growth. We also installed a designated ventilation system for our isolation ward where our patients with highly contagious diseases are cared for
